The WHO’s Assistant Director-General, Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health, Dr Catherine Le Galès-Camus said today (Thursday, 17 June) that the premature death toll due to tobacco would double to 9.8 million annually over the next 20 years, if current trends continue.
